A leader is one who solves problems and influences people. A leader rather make a decision, take risks and take action. A follower are happy to be told what to do and do it well, they feel uncomfortable making a decision just in case of the consequences. Followers are intimidated by accomplishments of others as a threat. Where leaders thrive on other people’s accomplishments as motivation and are a true asset. Followers are happy to keep doing what they know. Leaders are looking at new ideas and not scared on taking on new challenges. Followers are hesitant on making racial decisions. Leaders are not afraid to make a call to action. When mistakes are made, followers are quick to blame circumstances and other people. Leaders, on the other hand, are quick to accept accountability for their actions. Leadership and followership are all mindsets/state of mind. They’re completely different ways of looking at the world. One is reactive, and the other is proactive. One is pessimistic; the other is optimistic. Where one sees a to-do list, the other sees possibilities. Leadership isn’t something that anyone can give you. You earn it, work for it and train yourself to gain it.
